This yogurt smoothie or protein shake is a great way to get your daily dose of probiotics, protein and aloe vera gel. Aloe and yogurt are extremely healthy for the digestive tract, and protein helps to balance your blood sugar levels.
The protein shake is quick and easy to make, making it perfect for breakfast on days when you have to rush out the door. It also makes for a great mid-morning or afternoon snack to give you a quick and long-lasting boost of energy.
For this recipe I used store-bought yogurt. It’s definitely not the same as when you make it yourself, but it nevertheless is a healthy choice when you are pressed for time. For extra sweetness, I added a bit of honey, but any sweetener will work just as well. And if you want, you could even do without the extra sweetener as the strawberries and protein powder are pretty sweet already.
The recipe makes enough to serve one, however, it is easy to double or triple if you are making it for your family or friends.
1 cup Plain Yogurt
2 tbsp. Aloe
1 scoop Sunwarrior Vanilla Flavored Protein Powder
Honey to taste (optional)
Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender and enjoy!
Use any type of berry or fruit instead of the strawberries. It goes great with pineapple and blueberries.
