Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has been touted to be beneficial for many health problems. If taken internally, it can help with weight loss, digestion, diabetes, heart health, parasites, and the immune system.
ACV can also be applied topically for hair and skin care. Or, use it to whiten your teeth and freshen your breath.
The reason it’s so beneficial is due to the good bacteria that it contains: as soon as it comes in contact with the bad, it destroys it. Hence, it strengthens the overall body to resist various ailments.
And although you can apply the vinegar topically, if you take it internally it can work from the inside out. So why not give it a go?
Apple cider vinegar and water can be taken first thing in the morning to help with weight loss. Trust me, it not only eases the morning tummy grumblings, but it also helps to settle that nauseated feeling that you wake up with sometimes.
To help with digestion, you want to take it 20 to 30 minutes before a meal. This is ideal if you have parasites, want to lose weight or just improve your digestion. Or, you simply go rogue like me and take it whenever you feel like it. Sometimes I’ll take it first thing in the morning, or before meals; and then sometimes I’ll have it between meals, or even before bedtime. So feel free to bend the rules any which way you like and do what makes you happy. 🙂 Because that is what life is all about … to just be happy!
To be honest, when I first started taking ACV, I couldn’t down it. I mixed it with fruit juices and almond milk and what-not! It was just too acidic; and the taste was just … YUCK! Somehow my body was resisting it. But I can finally down the following recipe in about 15 minutes. And the benefits are amazing. I feel so much lighter, cleaner, my head is clearer, my bowels move quicker … and what more can a girl ask for?
The only downfall is that it can leave the teeth a bit sensitive. So you want to rinse with lots of sea salt water to help strengthen the teeth.
And now to the recipe…
1 1/2 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 – 1 1/2 Cup Water
Measure the ACV into a glass or cup, and add your favorite water. You could add ice cold water, but for maximum benefits keep it at room temperature. And go more or less on the ACV if you like. Again, do what makes you happy. Just remember that ACV can damage the esophagus if taken too strong. Never take ACV on its own.
