Here is my recipe for a papaya seed salad dressing with Greek yogurt. Papaya seeds have a somewhat peppery taste that goes really well in a dressing. As for Greek yogurt, it goes well with just about anything that you can imagine. If you wanted to keep this vegan, you could substitute with a home-made almond yogurt instead of the Greek. Either way, I’m sure you will enjoy this.
This is an excellent anti-parasitic recipe due to the papaya seeds. They contain enzymes that help break down and kill a variety of intestinal parasites. Although they are most beneficial when taken in the morning on an empty stomach, they nevertheless can be taken at any time of day. Not only are they good for eliminating parasites, but they also help to improve the overall functions of the digestive system.
As for the yogurt, even though it isn’t vegan, it is about the only animal product that is allowed on an anti-parasitic diet. Just remember to choose a plain yogurt with live cultures because that will help to restore good intestinal bacteria. It is generally best to avoid anything that is flavored or sweetened.
For this recipe I added in some flax seed oil for the omega 3 fatty acids. I find the oil goes really well with the papaya seeds, but you might also want to try this with another oil like olive oil. And if you want to make it even more beneficial against parasites, you could try castor oil or some melted coconut oil. The flavor will be different, but the benefits might be more.
This is a delicious dressing, and you can enjoy it even if you don’t have parasites. Plus, it’s a great way to use up those papaya seeds instead of just throwing them out.
Makes just over 1 cup.
Seeds from 1 Papaya
1 tbsp. Flax Seed Oil
1 cup Greek Yogurt (Plain)
Sea Salt to Taste
Blend papaya seeds and flax seed oil in a blender or magic bullet. It doesn’t have to be completely smooth as a little bit of crunch is good in the salad. Too much crunch, however, could ruin the salad.
Add in the yogurt and sea salt. Stir until mixed and toss with your favorite greens. It’s really good with some chopped papaya on top as well.
