Here is a delicious recipe for a super rich protein power breakfast smoothie. It’s loaded with protein, probiotics, greens and many other nutrients to help jump-start your day. Protein helps to regulate blood sugar and appetite throughout the day, so you want to make sure to get a good dose of it first thing in the morning.
Aside from the protein powder, the other ingredients high in protein are the avocado, Greek yogurt, and spirulina powder. You could use any yogurt that you like, but I like the Greek yogurt as it is highest in protein.
This protein smoothie is on the thicker side. If you like it to be thinner you could always add in more water or more fruit. The choice is yours.
Also, it looks bitter, but all the bitterness and odd tastes of the aloe and wheat grass powder are masked by the sweetness of the fruit and stevia powder. I actually find this very sweet and refreshing and I’ll even enjoy this in the afternoon. It’s a real treat for me to have all those fruits because I’ve been on a low sugar/low fruit diet for a while. I swear I can taste more sweetness in a banana now than most people can in a sugar-laden banana cream pie.
Makes enough for two.
1/2 cup Blueberries
1/2 cup Pineapple
1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1 cup Water or Almond Milk
2 tbsp. Aloe Vera
2 tbsp. Mint-Flavored Liquid Greens
2 scoops Vanilla-Flavored Protein Powder
2 tsp. Spirulina
2 tsp. Wheat Grass Powder
1 tsp. Stevia Leaf Powder
2 Probiotic Capsules
Blend all ingredients and enjoy.
