If you love ginger, then you will love this raw cacao recipe with fresh orange juice and a hint of ginger. The amount of ginger that you can put in depends on how much you enjoy it. I happen to enjoy the spicy flavor and thus I like to throw in a 1″ piece that is slightly thicker than your thumb. But you can always go with less if you desire to do so.
This chocolate goes well with fresh fruits and nuts, such as kiwi, bananas, apples, and pineapple. I find apples go really good with this dip because of the ginger.
You can serve this chocolate recipe as a dessert, or as a healthy snack at any time of day. Not only is it nutritious, but it is also a great energy booster.
The recipe makes just under 1 cup.
1/2 cup Peanuts
1/2-1″ Ginger Root
1/3 cup Orange Juice (about 1 orange)
5 tbsp. Raw Cacao
2 tbsp. Raw Agave Nectar
1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
A pinch of Sea Salt (optional)
Grind the peanuts along with the ginger in a blender or the small cup of a magic bullet. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend again until smooth. Enjoy with your favorite fruits and/or nuts.
