Strawberry Kombucha Smoothie Recipe with Greek Yogurt and Banana. It’s delicious and filling and great for breakfast!
Ahh kombucha … it’s so delicious and is said to be so good for you. It’s a fermented drink, which means that it’s loaded with friendly bacteria that support the gut. And when the gut is in order, the rest of the body also functions much better. It’s cleansing to the entire body, which in turn helps to increase both physical and mental energies. And that’s why I love it … it helps me to get through the day.
With that said, kombucha contains a lot of sugar, which is used to ferment the drink. I’m not sure how I feel about that yet, because I really havn’t done much research on it. I know that some experts say it’s not a health food, but others swear by it. So I don’t drink it on a regular basis, but I do enjoy a good treat once in a while.
There are many different types and flavors of kombucha. I’ve tried several, and honestly think that just about any flavor will taste great in this smoothie. However, I’ve been using an organic raw kombucha drink in Multi-Green flavor. It contains healthy greens such as spirulina and chlorella.
One other note that I should add about this smoothie, is that you want to consume it right away. If you have others to share it with, great! If not, I would recommend that you cut the recipe in half … unless of course you’re up to drinking about 5 cups of this delicious and filling smoothie in an hour or two. Then go for it! 🙂
2 cups strawberries
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 cups Multi-Green Organic Raw Kombucha
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
The strawberry kombucha smoothie recipe makes about 5 cups.
