This strawberry lemonade drink is a refreshing drink to enjoy during the hot summer weather. All the ingredients are natural, which automatically turns it into a healthy drink as well. For an even healthier drink, use organic produce.
The lemonade drink is made simply by juicing the strawberries and lemons and combining the juices in with a natural sweetener and cold water. You can use the pulp from the strawberries for dehydrating, composting or in other food preparations.
The recipe makes about 8 cups without the ice. The recipe is enough to keep me refreshed throughout the day.
4 cups Cold Water
2 cups Strawberry Juice (freshly pressed from about 16 oz of ripe strawberries)
1 cup Lemon Juice (about 5 lemons)
1/8 cup Honey (or more if desired)
1 cup Warm Water (to dissolve the honey)
Heat about 1 cup of water and mix it with the honey so that it can dissolve. If you are using a different sweetener that dissolves in cool water then you can eliminate this step. Just add an extra cup of cold water to compensate for the hot water.
Juice the lemons and strawberries. The strawberries can be juiced in a juicer if you have one. If you don’t have one, a blender and a nut milk bag or cheesecloth will work just as well. Do do this, simply blend the strawberries and then strain them to separate the juice from the pulp.
Combine all ingredients into a large pitcher and add ice as desired. Enjoy!
